GREEN POWER SMOOTHIE

B-3: I was rushing this morning so went for the green power smoothie. The good news is that it's loaded with veggies and protein. Here's my favorite recipe:

1/2 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk

1/2 cup spring water

1 handful of organic kale

1 handful of spinach

1/4 fresh blueberries

1/2 frozen banana

1/4 frozen avocado

1.5 T hemp fiber (I use Manitoba)

1 T chia seeds

1 T almond butter or 1/4 c of raw cashews

Blend thoroughly. If mixture is too thick, add a little more spring water. If you find that you over-add the greens, you can use a little bit of honey to sweeten although stay away from that cute little bear. Find a honey that retains its pollen instead of filtering or stripping it out. Your best bet is to by local from a small producer.

D-2: This random concoction was delicious. 1/2 sweet potato with some of the inside scooped out, micro-greens, and last night's skirt steak along with a raw salad: sliced brussels spouts, dino kale, toasted slivered almonds, pomegranate seeds, and a squeeze of citrus for dressing. It was savory, sweet, and had great texture. Will definitely be making this again.
