BONE BROTH

Well, well, well. Now here's something new for me. Homemade bone broth for the best of us de-toxers! I've made stock before but the biggest differences are the amount of simmering time and the critical use of organic, free-range bones along with clean spices, vegetables, and herbs.
The recipe I used from Wellness Mama calls for a 24 hour simmer. Whoops. I hadn't planned for that. I ended up simmering for 8 hours and then decided saftey was a more important issue, shut off the stove, and went to bed. The next morning, I put the pot back on and simmered a little while longer. I understand that some of the awesome mineralizing properties are lost by minimizing the time but let me say this -- regardless, it is delicious! Oh, and the added benefits of boosting the immune system, improving digestion, aiding in bone health, supporting joints, hair, and skin made the time for this golden goodness all worth-while. RIght on.
