WHAT DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?

I've never had a green thumb, that is, until recently. We've planted a garden every year since we have been in this house (going on 10 yrs) but my husband has been the main purveyor, main planter, and main harvester. This year, with more free time on my hands and far less on his, I decided I was in charge. How 'bout them apples?
Our existing soil was meek - it had far too much clay and rock. So we decided to put in one 6x3-foot raised bed. Instead of starting with a huge area, this was a lot more manageable for me. I was encouraged by its simplicity and quickly realized that taping off the bed by square-foot made everything awesomely organized ie: right down my alley.
This has been a project of love. Something new to nurture other than my dogs since my 10 year old is busier than I am. Something fascinating to watch grow. Something hugely satisfying to check on every morning, to eat every night. The garden is healthy and vibrant and I couldn't be more proud. Nothing tastes better than freshly snipped garden goods.
I've got red leaf lettuce, romaine, rocket, salad bowl, kale, carrots, oregano, cilantro, parsley, and several varieties of non-determinant tomatoes. But now I'm ready for more. Mother's Day can't come quickly enough. Hello raised bed #2! There will be zucchini, lots of spinach, cucumbers, sweet bell peppers, and basil in our near future. Woot! Woot! What does your garden grow?
