YOU HAD ME AT OREO

I need to start testing gluten free, dairy free desserts. We have a bunch of celebrations over the next few months: birthdays, anniversaries, Memorial Day, 4th of July. You get the picture.
I stumbled onto the inspiring website Hippie Lane by accident last night. Serendipity at its best! "Hippie" is not a word that I would use to describe myself or most things I like. I think of Haight Ashbury. Pot. Tie Dye. Meh. I'd normally x out of a site with a name like this but Hippie Lane's website quickly spoke for itself. The irony is that it's not hippiesque at all. It's crisp. Cool. Urban. Refreshingly stylish. Their tag line reads: "desserts with an edge" and the recipe I tried below suggets just that. Perhaps they are epitomizing the old hippie-healthy mentality but wrapping it up in a fashion-forward, ultra-soft leather jacket. If this is the new hippie, I'm all in.
My raweros (their recipe) below. They did not disappoint. So good, in fact, that I felt guilty eating one. Bravo.
